ESPN InPlay

In collaboration with ESPN and American Express, FreshDigitalGroup created a 2nd screen mobile web trivia experience for the 2012 US Open Tennis Tournament, 2013 Wimbledon and 2013 ESPY Awards.

Challenge

• Create a fully customizable and robust mobile web platform to power a real-time gamification experience.

• Create a backend CMS tool for the ESPN editorial staff to update, in real-time, for live broadcast coverage in correlation with predictive and historical trivia questions.

• Create a fully-functional cross platform mobile web experience that works in concert with ESPN2 Live Broadcast Matches.

• Integrate Twitter and Facebook access to create a fully social 2nd screen experience for fans.




 

Solution

FreshDigitalGroup built a mobile web experience that combined the elements of gamification, social and live TV. We built a robust and fully customized backend CMS that allows for easy access for updates to the content, trivia questions, member rewards points, etc. This platform is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter, and allows fans to share their Trivia scores and branded awards with their friends and the world.

Tide Shark Week Activation

Objective

Develop a Youtube channel to drive Tide brand affinity with avid fans and casual fans. Increase engagement while reinforcing Tide's core campaign idea--Tide gets it out.

Strategy

  • Rolled out an engaging Youtube campaign, from concept and creation to execution, within a two-week timeline with a minimal budget.
  • The campaign efficiently grew Tide's equity by leveraging consumers' passion for the Shark Week.
  • It greatly generated buzz on Twitter with funny and quirky #TyandDee Shark Week videos.

Design a mobile optimized site highlighted by high end, disruptive and interactive creative that allows the user to explore the brand to its full extent. “FDG exceeded our expectations in their ability to quickly turn around great creative and design that drove incremental mobile sales above and beyond any previous benchmarks” - Adam Meshekow, Experienced Mobile Advertising and m-commerce lead at Toys"R"Us & Babies"R"Us.

NBA Brazil's Mostre Sua Paixao

In collaboration with NBA Brazil, FreshDigitalGroup created a social driven digital campaign meant to reach Brazilian basketball fans and grow the NBA presence in Brazil. #MostreSuaPaixao, Portuguese for #ShowUsYourPassion, is a responsive site that pulls live user generated content into one unified hub, allowing fans to view photos and videos from street talent around Brazil. The #ShowUsYourPassion movement encourages fans to share their best basketball moves as well as drive love and passion for the game in Brazil.


Challenge

Create a digital hub for fans to access photos and other media of the best basketball moves around Brazil. The platform needed to be fully responsive and accessible to users through desktop and mobile web, as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. FDG needed to develop a fully-functional cross platform digital and mobile web experience that integrated user registry through email and social media APIs.


Solution

FreshDigitalGroup created one unified hub with multiple access points that integrates social, mobile, online and real-time user generated content (UGC). The customized platform was able to recognize and pull photos and videos tagged #mostresuapaixao that fans posted of their best basketball moves to their favorite social network site and is showcased through the single digital hub. Any content that was hashtagged #mostresuapaixao was pulled and directed to the URL, allowing everyone to access incredible fan-sourced media.

Voxy Foreign Language App

Challenge

Create an application to allow people to easily learn a foreign language anywhere and an app was required for launch of business. This app was based on recent research in second language acquisition, mobile technology and cognitive science and needed to deliver authentic content that actual native speakers could consume in real life activities, give ample opportunity to practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and offer chances to get feedback from English-speaking tutors.

Solution

By adding location-based features that enabled the learning content to be customized through Real-Time Relevance to the world around the user and their interests, we created an app that could expose people to genuine discourse that is relevant to their real world needs. This gives users frequent opportunities to learn the language with the app.

Carbon NYC

Challenge


CarbonNYC, a community of New York City business leaders from a variety of professional fields, was in need of a website redesign/development, member forum and creative overhaul.

Solution


FreshDigitalGroup provided concept direction, created the UI/UX, developed all new brand assets, and created the graphic design for the new site. In addition, FreshDigitalGroup built out a new CMS and developed an entirely new backend that was more manageable for the client to upload event photos, collect RSVP's from members, add upcoming events and more.

VH1 SuperSonic 2014 App

Objective

Extending the VH1 Supersonic brand across 50 clubs Pan India, giving the consumer an experience of the main festival with their favorite DJ’s in their home town across the country.

 

Solutions

• FreshDigitalGroup created an app for Viacom India showcasing EDM festivals around the world.

• It allows users to easily browse through festivals to learn more about them. With up-to-date festival and artist news, users are also able to create a list of their favorite festivals and shows to share via social media.

Challenge

The Disaster Accountability Project requested a website redesign of their subsidiary; Smartresponse.org. 


Solution

FreshDigitalGroup created a website which helps to generate efficient analytical data for organizations offering disaster relief. The collected information is used to redirect and disperse funds to proper areas and organizations, offering relief through quick responses to natural disasters throughout the world. Our services included wire framing, UX/UI, design, in addition to developmental aspects of the website with proper placement of information and data.

HMS: Health Media Services

HMS Educational Hospital iPad App

Challenge

To build an application that allows hospital patients to view instructional video through the iPad to educate themselves about their new condition, diagnosis, and aftercare. An iPad is to be provided to patients while waiting in the room for the physician, by a technician or nurse.


Solution

• Develop an educational model for using a video and information platform in the Emergency Room treatment process.

• Create an intuitive app that is easy to navigate even during the most stressful of times.

• Provide a means of achieving significant cost savings and reduce hospital liabilities through optimizing & automating standard ER procedures of any hospital.

• Most importantly, improve communication between patient and medical professionals through education.

Incorporate an interactive feature, possibly the ability to click different features of the car to learn additional information. Social Functionalities twitter, facebook, etc.

  • FDG created a Rich Media Interstitial for the Porsche Macan. Users could interact with the ad unit to view the Macan in a different color, view the interior details, and share via social. Users can also interact with the headlight features and view them in different colors. 
  • Tapping “Test drive” on any of the pages takes the user to a page on the Porsche site where they can enter their zip code to find the nearest dealer.

After selecting Entertainment at the bottom, users can swipe through the entertainment options in Las Vegas and then go to the corresponding site by tapping on the image. Once there, users can buy tickets, or share via social.

Challenge

La Cocina VA, a Non-profit organization that helps to generate job opportunities for unemployed Hispanics through job training in the hospitality and food service industries, sought help with creative works for their upcoming meetings and fundraising events. They were also in need of developing social strategies to further reach their target audience.

Solution

FreshDigitalGroup redesigned La Cocina’s logo, created a bilingual (Spanish and English) brochure, as well as newsletters and flyers for their coming meetings. Sunset World, a Luxury Hotel Marketing firm based in Cancun, Mexico, came to FDG for a new digital direction and roadmap. With over 20 properties, 5 websites, and failed advertising efforts, they needed to focus their direction elsewhere.

When not leading FDG and engaging with clients, he channels his creativity and dedication to teach mobile classes at Miami Ad School, calling on his deft ability to bring ideas to life and problem solve to achieve maximum results. His expertise has been recognized by the Advertising Research Foundation Committee, who appointed him a mobile liaison.

Doug graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BS in Political Science.

 

Steven Wang, Lead Developer

Steven is a software developer with over 9 years experience in iOS/Android development, Beacon, Apple WatchKit, Database, etc. As the lead developer at FreshDigitalGroup, he develops apps and rich media units that integrate with Fresh Beacons, drones, Apple Watch and other digital projects for clients. Prior to FDG, he had two personal apps in the iOS App Store. 

He loves the idea and process of software development, especially mobile app development, which aims to make people’s lives better and easier. He is not only a self-learner but also a dedicated team player.  His specialties include but are not limited to: iOS/Android development, Objective C/C/C++, Java, Beacon, Apple WatchKit, Database, RESTful API, JSON/XML/HTTP, Eclipse development, Embedded System and Internationalization.

Steven also enjoys history and reading. Huo Qubing, a distinguished Chinese military tactician of the Western Han dynasty, is his favorite historical hero.

Judy Robinson, CCO

As FreshDigitalGroup’s ‪Chief Creative Officer, Judy oversees all creative efforts and ensures that the work is perfected to meet the clients’ needs and expectations.

She is an award-winning Creative Director who has spent her career working at some of New York’s top agencies on a variety of brands, from beer to cereal to shopping. She was instrumental in helping Saatchi & Saatchi win JC Penney when they were a thriving department store in their prime. The work went on to gain many creative accolades, including Saatchi’s award for Agency of the Year at Cannes. She was then made Creative Director on 3 accounts: Yoplait Yogurt brands and Miller Genuine Draft and MGD64.

She was then asked to help Y&R win back JC Penney and try to help them recover from financial ruin. She worked on the “Apology” commercial that garnered over 500,000 youtube views in 2 days as well as a variety of press. Her award-winning Back to School campaign gained more marketshare in the digital space for JC Penney than any of its competitors, including Target.

For more than 15 years, she has straddled the line between traditional and digital creative until recently when it has become more synonymous. It is her goal to guide brands into the best digital space, and make them shine.

When she is not creating, she is making fish tacos and cheering on her favorite basketball team, the Kentucky Wildcats.

#SylviaZhou, Communications Director

As FreshDigitalGroup’s Communications Director, Sylvia serves as the company’s point person for all press inquiries. She leads and manages the content management processes and tasks; including concept creation, press releases, social media management, routing and publishing to different internal and external communication vehicles.

Her past experience includes tech PR, investor relations, and broadcast journalism. Born and raised in Shanghai, Sylvia followed her parents to Tokyo, traveled to Melbourne as a journalist at United Nations, then came to NYC for graduate school at NYU. She graduated with a Masters of Science in Public Relations and Corporate Relations. 

Sylvia is a fan of San Antonio Spurs, New York Rangers, all music festivals, Guinness and bourbon. She hates chocolate and anything sweet.
