Challenge

The NBA wanted to create a socially driven digital campaign that would reach Brazilian basketball fans and grow the NBA’s presence in Brazil. This digital campaign was set to coincide with a week of NBA-run activities culminating in the live Fan Appreciation Day event.

Solution

Fresh Digital Group developed the website and app #MostreSuaPaixao, Portuguese for #ShowUsYourPassion. The website and app were responsive and pulled live user generated content into one unified hub, allowing fans to view photos and videos from street talent around Brazil. The #ShowUsYourPassion movement encourages fans to share their best basketball moves as well as drive love and passion for the game in Brazil.

Highlights

The #ShowUsYourPassion movement successfully drove engagement by encouraging fans to share their best basketball moves. This campaign was successful in growing both the NBA’s presence in Brazil and the popularity of basketball in a soccer-obsessed nation.







ESPN INPLAY

Challenge

ESPN hired Fresh Digital Group to create a fully customizable and robust mobile web platform to power a real-time gamification experience. This included making a way for ESPN editorial staff to update, in real-time, for live broadcast coverage. We were also asked to integrate Twitter and Facebook access to create a fully social 2nd screen experience for fans.

Solution

Fresh Digital Group created a fully-functional cross platform mobile web experience that works in concert with ESPN2 Live Broadcast Matches, incorporating elements of gamification, social, and live TV. We built a robust and fully customized backend CMS that allows for easy access for updates to the content, trivia questions, member rewards points, etc. The platform is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter, allowing fans to share their Trivia scores via their own social channels.

Highlights

ESPN InPlay experienced 10x the amount of anticipated user traffic for the product. In collaboration with ESPN and American Express, Fresh Digital Group created a 2nd screen mobile web trivia experience for the 2012 US Open Tennis Tournament. Fresh Digital Group was also asked and reconfigured this platform for the 2013 Espy's Wimbledon, Home Run Derby, and the 2014 NFL Draft with Corona.
